Hi all you techies out there - I (or rather the chimp) have a problem starting when warm. Here''s the scenario: Been away for a few weeks, came back to zero battery, completely dead. Charged and started fine. However, restarting when warm there is absolutely nothing - all electrics work, injection pump runs and the dash lights dim when the key is turned to start but the s/motor doesn''t turn over, nairy a clickm, nowt. Leave for a few hours - problem - what problem? Any ideas.

get yer wallet out and give the nice man a wedge for a new starter motor, it's a well known fault caused by the heat of the engine buggering them up, mind you I had a SAAB 900 turbo that did exactly the same

I had the very same problem sorted - for now anyway,on my Griff 500 last week.Starter motor was replaced and supply rewired in new heat resistant conduit, all fortunately under warranty. My car would fail to restart with the same symptoms as yours after 10 mins.of running and would restart normally after 15 mins.or so,I live 10 miles from nearest garage so as you can imagine refilling with fuel was interesting!

Thanks guys, a truly depressing response... Think I'll go visit an autoelectric place.

Don't go anywhere near a TVR dealer for a new starter, they will try and charge you about £250, go to Land Rover dealer, and the same part number is about £150, or go to auto electrician and get it re-conditioned for about £50. They are quite easy to change all you need is a very long 6mm allen key and a bit of time.
