Just discovered that I have a very minor weep on my Rad. Can anyone advise if they have used a repair additive to good effect (and if so which one)? Or should I just go for a new Rad at Fernies for £450 fitted. I don''t want to take any risk with my precious but advice / guidance would be appreciated. Jerry and Silver 4.5 Chimaera

Barrs Leaks has always done the job for me. Halfords stock it. Be warned though, in my experience it will only be a temporary fix, expecially if you have a 500.

Personally I wouldn't use anything like Radweld etc, I had a similar problem on my Griff, it leaked under pressure. I took it to Raven at Gatwick and they got it reconned for around £120 and labour wasn't much more, it's been absolutely fine for over a year now and seems to work better than ever.

If you can see the leak then try Chemical Metal - comes in a tube and has to be mixed with a hardner. I have used it twice before with no adverse effects
