Got a bit of a misnomer so here’s the thing. My Chim 500 When the heater is on full hot for 20mins or so, it appears that tiny spots ( pin head size ) of oil appear on the dash, seats, etc. I think its oil for it smears when you wipe across them. The car had the infamous 24000 service in Oct and has covered 3000K since. My local dealer Hawthorns said that the only thing they know it may be is the saturated oil filter could be throwing oil about in the left hand wing and its finding its way into the heater loop. Just blown an exhaust gasket as well so a good month so far.

Afraid I don't know about your oil problem chap, but assuming you had the car serviced at Hawthorns, did they do a good job? My Griff 500 goes in for the 'infamous 24k' service next week and, judging some of the nightmare servicing tales on this site, I'm bricking it! Simon

on the 24k it had all new disks, pads, brakes ect. New glass panel in roof. New belts on the engine. new door releases. Paint clean up. New tyres all round. And Hawthorns were very good all in all. The oil problem I rang them about yesturday on route to bournemouth and they had a guy stay back in the workshop to look at it fo me on return to londinium. He noticed the very slight duff manifold seal as well so its going in for for some TLC. Just never heard of the oil splatter problem before ????

I've just had the "famous 24k" done on my Griff 500, and it was nothing to be scared of. Cost was £618 from Fernhurst, of which there was an extra hour's labour over the fixed-price service to fix some minor bits and bobs. Cheerio, Pete
