The project is back on track again.
Differences have been sorted with Simon, and I am now in control of the car.
The car has been totally stripped apart from the engine which I am taking out today, it is going to be dipped tomorrow to get rid of all the existing paint. Next week its off to have the roll cage built and a few chassis mods, then its off for powder coating
I’ve redesigned the supercharger, the original design (not Ariel’s nor QED’s I hasten to add) was suspended directly from the inlet manifold with no bracing. It would have probably lasted a week before snapping!
Also we are intending to run equal length drive shafts so I am currently designing a bearing carrier to hold the centre shaft.
The charge cooler radiators have been remounted in a position that will stop them picking up every stone on the roads.
I've bought some new seats too! This time I've gone for vinyl sparco’s. Wont hold as much water
The credit card took a hammering after ordering the rod ends. At over £80 each for the biggies they had better do a good job.
Have taken a bucket load of photos so I will update my photo section soon

Well the chassis is all finished now, complete with full roll over cage!
Sent some photos to Simon and he said he actually liked it! Its down at the powder-coaters getting a coating of Porsche Speed Yellow applied
So providing that the car doesnt look too bad, we are still on track for a months completion

Things are coming on well!
Making a couple of changes to certain aspects of the car. For one we have a few more rivets in the bulk heads, should give the car a little more rigidity.
Gone for a remote resevoir on the clutch as well as the 2 brakes. Mounting it was fun, but stiffened up the pedal box by putting a threaded bolt through the mounts on the master cylinders.
Fitted all of the new Rod ends, they definately make a difference. Having the Penske shocks re-valved, and the length changed to avoid excesive droop.
Taking loads of pics of the build, if anyone wants to see just mail me

It has been powder coated
If you look at some of the early pics it is hung upside down at the coaters
Did you notice the change at the side also?
A few people have been using harness pads around that side chassis rail. Well I removed it! Doesnt look too bad I dont think, still in good keeping with the current design.

What makes it a wonderful world is that everyone's different. I love the fact that you have the choice to make something different from your Atom. I however, also have the right to choose not to like it. Sorry mate, it's not my cup of tea at all - and I don't even like tea!
But good on you for leting your individualism shine through - can't imagine what your shoe wardrobe must look like, though

Thanks Bruce for sharing your beverage habbits! It will be a little different, and that is something i wanted, but I am sure you will like it once it is finished. When the bodywork and wings are put on it looks rather good. The pods for the supercharger rads, they give it some added flowing lines.
But at the moment I have had to had the penske's re-worked so its been sat on axel stands, with all 4 wheels on and it sat a little lower, I hope you will change your mind.
If not, well at least they will be able to tell it apart from everyone elses!
