evoactive Atom day at Cadwell
Discussion
I've noticed that you guys are interested in getting together for a trackday.
How about the 3rd of June at Cadwell with evoactive? This is now an Ariel Atom day organised with the factory and we will be doing high-speed passenger rides in the factory car.
Cadwell is perfect for Atoms, in fact it could almost have been designed for them.
All Atom PH'ers will receive a 10% discount of the normal £185 price. More details of our trackdays are on www.evo.co.uk
NB, I have spoken to 'Ted' and he is happy for me to post this here

You will find that our days are well run and not inhabited by the type of driver you describe. Our number one priority is safety.
Which is why for the first hour we only allow novices on the circuit. There will be instructors out there, so you can follow them if you wish. It gives you the chance to get up to get comfortable out there. Our instructors are the best there are.
The two senior instructors have spent the last 10 years working at the Silverstone race school and they are both professional racers (Rob Barff - finished 5th at Sebring last month, and Simon Harrison - racing in the ETCC in a Honda Civic).
Any driver not obeying the rules or causing a problem will be black-flagged. If they keep doing it they will be sent home. This is rare because the vast majority of our attendees are real enthusiasts (as you'd expect from evo readers). We have sent a couple of people home in the past though, so we are not afraid to do that to ensure everyone else has a good day.
Instruction is always available, the instructors will be happy to chat to you and of course there are passenger rides.

Although if you'd like to actually drive the car yourself (and let's be honest, nothing beats getting behind the wheel), you could try Autocar's day on Friday 3rd September when you'll also get to drive the Grinnall, Leading Edge and a couple of others.

Not really interested in mixing it with selfish Radical racers, pompous Turbo Porsche pilots and Japanese meganutterturbosaloon drivers...
They all speak highly of snobbish Ariel drivers as well....
So that's about six people I've just apologised to then...
I'm not being prejudiced, just speaking from (ever so slightly bitter) experience.
As for Superlight drivers...
... they're just the salt of the Earth
I reckon if we go on the EVOactive day, we'll be unofficially promoting the Atom - so maybe Simon should be paying for us to go on the day Alternatively, it makes much better copy if a lot of Atoms show up, so maybe EVO should pay for us to be there (more than 10% off!) - think of the great pics! Hey, maybe the mag and the manufacturer could split our costs?
Alternatively, if Autocar would like to do a feature on Atoms and their owners, we'll be happy for Autocar and EVO to enter a bidding war!

That's a great point Bruce. Although we'll also be laying on other cars for you to drive - you could always see how the Grinnall feels after your car, or see if the Deronda is actually worth considering or just an Ariel derivative. We'll also be bringing some stuff from our long term fleet and you can have all the passenger rides in those that you want.
Seriously though - Ariel's always been reasonably close to the heart of Autocar. Simon and Steve Cropley are old mates and the car always astonishes anyone from the magazine who drives it. I can't wait to have a go in it myself.

I'm getting bored of this.
It's not just any old passenger ride now is it? It's alongside a Le Mans driver. It's a chance to see what an Atom can really do in the hands of an expert. And there are equally fast rides available in a Radical SR3, a Noble M400 and a Caterham R400.
There's also free magazines and posters, a chance to meet the editorial team. And it's way cheaper than the Autocar day in terms of £ per minute on track.
Let's leave it there shall we.
