I'm sure on Top Gear or similar, they said the Atom was £30,000. Why can I not find any information about this anywhere, and why is the cheapest one on AutoTrader £34,000?

Clarkson tested the Atom 2, and there on the Atom 3 now. The top gear episode must be about three years old now, As you have seen they have a very low depreciation, I have seen some early models for about £25000!

More than 3 years as this clip was posted on YouTube back in Feb 2007... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaWoo82zNUA

I first saw the clip on NZ TV (which would have been played some months after it aired on UK TV) long before I got my Atom in Nov 2006.

In the video Clarkson says prices start at under £20,000 but you wouldn't get any spec other than the bare basic for that money.

So what are the prices now? 20k for base spec sounds like a bargain.

Topgear test by Clarkson was Christmas 2004 - its when the Atom 2 was released. At that time there was a 160 model with the Civic type S engine (with 160bhp of course) as opposed to the 220 with the type R. Price was low £20k's. Base price now is just over £30,000 but that is with very simple sepc which hardly anybody goes with. It is £3000 for better brakes and £2000 for adjustable suspension - both of which are pretty esential. Nobody walks out paying less than £35k atleast.
