Just ordered an Atom 2. What an amazing car. Had a Caterham before but that's like an antique compared to the Atom. Unbelievable.Does anyone here have one yet I guess there aren't many around so far?

Welcome to the club! (even if it is quite a small one) and congrats on buying a mark II - I'm jealous I imagine it will be mint on the track.

Any idea, when you're getting it delivered? Where are you based?

Cheers, Ross.

Sorry - been on holiday. My Atom 2 hould be delivered for next spring/end of Feb as I'm away a lot between now and then and they seem to be stacked out with orders for the Atom 2. Been getting some good press too lately so I hear, so I'm getting excited.

What does an Atom mk2 look like? Any pics available?

Looks similar to the original Atom but the mk2 comes with a 220bhp Honda VTec engine. Reasonable power for a car that weighs 456kg.

I'd like to aplologise to all you guys ordering new ones. I think that the mods to my MkI are slowing things up... Should be out of the workshop very soon and then lots more MkIIs on the line.

May I ask how Happy you guys are with the new V-Tec engine?

I'm not really a big fan of these Honda V-Tec's because you allways need to keep them on high-rev's to sqeez out the performance. ( So if you, just like me, sometimes like to crousing down/up hill roads at low rev's to just enjoy the day, these engines won't satisfy you.)

But for a track-day-toy like these one, they seem to be the perfect wepon of choice. How do you think about them?

I reckon the Honda unit will be absolutely perfect for the lightweight atom.

As it is, my Civic-R is quick enough and that's about 2.5 times heavier than the Atom.

Hitting the powerband at 6k in the new Atom should be absolutely incredible in any gear I reckon...and god only knows what it will sound like!

Cheers, Ross.

You should have no problem at all with low end grunt, while screaming the hell out of it's a load of fun it will pull top from about 20mph.

It will pull from 35 in top ,it snatches below that, just being precise here !
I had mine up to 135mph last week and it was still pulling well,I can't go too mad as the engine is still tight
The MK2 is a good car ,not too sure on the tyres though ,I may get some Toyo Proxes fitted next week, the SO3's are too skittish and take too long to warm up ,maybe they will be ok on the track.
