I was showing my VW pictures to my 3 year old daughter yesterday evening. She'd been most appreciative (Murcielago: "Oooooh, I like that one, it's very orange" ) and then when we got to the picture of an Atom, she said:
"Oooooh, that's a pram. Babies can go in that"
Anyway, respect to all of the Atom drivers who made it yesterday, it can't have been too warm driving down there.

Excellent, good job you did not show here any pictures of Beetle convertables etc.
Great to see so many different cars yesterday, beats normal Sunday activities into a cocked hat

Any news on the Alvis - dare I ask!
Well, I was keeping everything crossed until the garage had delivered a verdict - it's good news, though.
My trusted engineer recently retired, and the core plugs had been replaced by a specialist, but untried (by me) garage recently as part of the annual service. However, they hadn't done it properly. These are are plugs that stop up the holes left in the the engine block following the sandcasting process. THay are prone to blowing out if not properly sealed.
Fortunately, the carbs and manifold came off without a hitch and all the core plugs have now been done properly. About 14 hours work, but well worth it.
A few other jobs are being done at the same time (carb tuning on three sets of twin Webbers is a black art!) this time by people who really seem to know what they're doing.
Should be back on the road by Wednesday.
Phew!
