I made my first visit to the Ariel factory yesterday (10th). Firts impressions - what a friendly crew and warm welcome. Many cynics (I'm one) might say "well they would be, they want your money". Well, I'd already ordered and paid but never driven one before.

Signed the disclaimer and went out with Tom. He drove for the first part and it reminded me why I was buying one - so bloody fast and such huge fun!

Then it was my turn and with some trepidation I settled into the drivers seat. At the ripe old age of 52 (younger than Bruce ), I've driven many cars but nothing like the Atom. I found the steering so precise - absolutely no play whatsoever.

The biggest difference of all were the brakes! Compared to servo assisted you litterally had to stand on these - something I definately will take time to adjust to.

All in all, a wonderful afternoon and many thanks to Simon, Tom and the others for making it so.

Just a few snippets others may find of interest.

1. They're presently turning out 6 each month.
2. Red is the most popular colour.
3. Tom said the fuel gague problem had been resolved with the new dash. Would be interested to hear comments from guys with the new dash.
4. Saw JRLs car there looking rather sad
5. My chassis arrives 10th September - can't wait!

Cheers

Is he so old, our President ?

Fuel Gauge : yes problem is solved because there is no longer numbers, but several vertical lines that decrease when tank becomes empty !!!

Seemed to work on A7OM.

Here's a pic from the factory, I'm the fat git in the passenger seat and the infamous Tom just climbing in.
