First post ever at PistonHeads! "Hai Everybaady!"

I've been working on a 3D model of the Atom and was wondering if there were any blueprints that are available anywhere? So far i have found reference to work from, but nothing as accurate as a blueprint.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you ask Simon if he'll ket you have the copyrighted designs to his car. I'm sure he'll be amenable...

Oh, look - a pig's just flown past my window!

hahahaha!!

well it's not like i'm trying to steal the the blueprints from him and make my own car (i don't know the first thing about simple auto maintenance, let alone build my own)... but i figured the issue would come up...

But i'm still only talking about blueprints, like, general guidelines as to how the car looks from the front, back top and side views. Those can be found for mass-produced cars without any real trouble...

There are a couple of owners in the US I am sure you could meet up with them to get some photos etc.

Ask Coventry University for the artwork of the LSC (Light wieght Sports Car) Designed by Nic Smart I think. Simon Saunders was his lecturer at the time and later released the Atom based on that design. I seem to remember a full 3D CAD model of the original car. 1997 I think.

"two fish on a mission"

Is that why I've got two kids???

If the car gets into a film all the better.

rabarbir,

If you need to profile some atom drivers for your characters there are plenty of photos of me and if you need more just email me!!!!!

Oh and some helpful information try this link for America friends www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=199213&f=79&h=0

Or find "Robsloman" profile and email him.

John, actually my request for the 4 views has nothing to do with that movie. In fact the movie was released in Germany and several other european countries some time ago (about 6 months to a year).

I was just looking for some good orthographic views of the car (orthographic = straight to the side, straight from the top, etc -- regular pictures create distortion) because i want to build it in 3D for my portfolio. I happen to absolutely love the car, so i chose it as a personal project of mine. I also have a BMW Z4 in the works.

one more thing, i do already have pictures of the front, back and side (stuff i found online after lots of research), but i badly need a straight from the top picture to make the car look good

actually, openwheelers is where i got the highest resolution images of side, front and back views, but i never found any top views. I could just wing it, but i know that when i'm done, i'll show it to Atom owners and i'll get the 12 "bah our Atom doesn't look like that" comments. Not that it would matter since i'm trying to add this to my portfolio, but i want to please the Atom community too

I might have to just wing it though if i can't find a top-down picture.

I don't know much about these things but, isn't the Atom featured in one of those super computer driving games?

The makers would have had to have some very accurate computer generated models in order to create the software. Might be worth checking out?
