speaking of lard,

i see on the ariel website that they quote an atom 2 as weighing 465kg. yesterday i weighed an atom 1 at 570kg±5kg. Was the atom 1 heavier than the 2?

The Atom 1 is actually a bit lighter as the K-series weighs less than the Honda unit (must be the extra 200cc in the Hondas). Was surprised that mine weighed that much mind you.

From memory, I think Ariel quote a minge under 500KG for the car in "Race" spec.IE. no road pack, which would be things like: hand brake, mudguards, lights, tax disc holder, cats and so on. I suppose, with a fair wind, these items could possibly add up to 100KG.

In any event, a road car is obviously in the region of 600KG.20% heavier. With a driver and passenger you are up to about 800KG.

Morning Guys,
When you have Alcons front and rear, lose the hand brake, rear wing and supercharger and then add mag wheels I guess it would weigh 530?
Mag wheels lose you 20 kilos!!
Thats alot more kebabs you can eat!

Taking off the front and rear wings saves you 10 kilos... I just took the rear off mine - it's a close rtun thing but I think I prefer it without...

Maybe I'll pop the front and rear wings up on the Atomclub 'For Sale' section... give it the overnight test first...
