Assuming Ariel are churning out a new Atom at about 1 a week, I wonder where they end up?

I believe Ariel have taken on more staff and relocated since the highly successful appearance of the Atom on Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear.

So what is the output of Atoms from Somerset and where are they ending up?

You should be out driving that lovely Ultima - or perhaps starting it at this time in the morning would wake the neighbours!!

I think there are quite a number going abroad. Once I have got mine I will be plased about their rarity but right now, I wish I could find a seconhand 245 or 300 to see me through till the new one comes!!!

The figures I've heard is that they have made about 250 of which 100 have gone overseas and the rest are here in the UK. We just need to get more of the owners on the forum.

You're right, John. Those are roughly the figures. The target is going to be two a week in the new factory which will cut waiting times.

There are quite a few owners who read the forums for info, but don't like to participate - I did, when I first looked at PH. They often find themselves inexorably drawn to comment and then the madness starts!

Hell - It took me ages to get the spelling right on that - but then I only got back from a stag weekend in Ibiza at 5:00am today. Someone get me a bacon roll...

Mine is in build this week, the chassis having been delayed from Arch. Well, I hope it is as we're going to see it on Thursday ! The last 5 months have been hell and the summers now gone !

Hi stupotty

Glad to see we rattled your cage! Are you of the ones who reads all but lies low?

What's the spec on the Atom you've ordered and what was/is the delay with the chassis?

You mentioned Arch - do they manufacture the chassis?

My chassis is due in 1st week of September and I hope they get cracking on with it immediately! I placed my order back in May - hate the waiting too!

Cheers JC

Hi JC,

Gone for a 160 with 15" spoked alloys and a few other bits and pieces. On a budget but just had to have one.

Arch make the chassis and Tom said they have had some problems with sickness so mine was a week late arriving with them - should have been in build last week. Can't wait to see it and then pick it up on 13 August.

Yes, I am guilty of lurkin and have been doing so since Jan to learn more before I get more involved. Information on here is great and helped make up my mind. I've also joined the club and look forward to meeting everyone.

That's excellent Stu and welcome to the forum.

May I ask one question - when did you place your order?

Don't forget to take pics when you do the pick-up, we'd all love to share the excitement.

John,

Place order around end March. Tom called today and there is a problem with the chassis....its missing the mounts for the roll bar that I wanted as I am thinking about sprinting & hilclimbing it. New chassis comes Monday and they will be working so I can still collect on 13 Aug!

When (If) I get down I will be taking some photos in progress and at collection.

Regards

Stu

Thanks for the info Stu.

It's good that Ariel are pro-active with their customers and keep you up-to-date.

I wonder what changes you're incorporating into the roll bar?

Any ideas where Arch are based?

Cheers

John
