For those that haven't got themselves some ear-plugs yet (shame on you), I can recommend the following site:-

www.allearplugs.com

Free delivery and I just got an email saying that they're doing a 'VAT free' 17.5% discount until July 2nd (just the use the code 'novat' in the Discounts & Offers section during the checkout process.

I went for a pack of the 'Safe Sound Earplugs' last time which were fine, but I think next time, I'll try the 'Ultra Safe Sound' ones for a little extra reduction in noise.

Not a patch on custom fitted ones I know, but very useful to have a pack in the 'boot'.

Hi all,

A couple of other links which may be of interest.

www.earplugs.gb.com do a good range and also a "trial pack" of >20 types so that you can find what suits you.

I've seen a number of recommendations for www.greeleopard.co.uk but have no direct experience. They custom-make plugs that are moulded to the shape of your ears and are reputedly very effective and comfortable. I believe thay can do earplugs with mp3 etc player earpieces integrated.

Personally I use ugly but cheap ear defenders from B&Q with ipod earpieces underneath!

I think you missed out an 'n' there www.greenleopard.co.uk/

And ear defenders don't work under a lid! I swear by ultimateear - I promise they make the Atom sound positively quiet, and rattles just vanish. They must be worth another couple of seconds a lap on track, too... Very calming - especially with the Doobie Brothers on the iPod round Donnington

Ooops - my spelling is carp! Neglected to consider the need for helmets - I normally don't bother in the 7, even with an aeroscreen.
