I think I sold one this weekend

Hello chaps
This is my first post to this forum, so a bit about me. I own the blue Mk1 chassis 12 ex Big Thunder, since January. I have only just however trackedd down this forum, due, I guess to idiotic navigation of Pistonheads. The nick-name by the way is my last car, which made way for the Atom.
Anyway took it to a party in Oxfordshire this weekend, where it was much admired by a French chap, who found the specialist sports car culture in the UK fascinating. He was thinking Caterham or TVR as a boys toy. I took him a short ride (in which I scraped the bottom pretty comprehensively on the huge camber of the drive). I got the impression he is going to be onto the factory sharpish.
Have downloaded the form for the club. will be in hte post tomorrow.

I've got the yellow one from Big Tuunder, and Ben Yeats has got the green one ...and I believe the red one went to a track-day company, so that's them all accounted for!
You've got a great little car there - fantastic value for money - and lots of fun!
jensen-healey said:Yeah ...they do that! The Big Thunder Mk1 cars do seem to be set a bit lower than the current Mk2 cars - so its worth keeping an eye on the bottom of the radiator, as that's one of the first things to catch. The collars on the rear springs also have a tendancy to unwind themselves over time, which lowers the rear of the car gradually - again something to look out for.

Get the car on a track - and don't be put off by the press reviews that said the Mk1 didn't handle - they do!
To confirm, I do indeed have an other one from big thunder. I also reckon I sold one this weekend, on Friday I met AndySV and took him for a run, he now seems very keen, just needs to find a car in time for summer.
A bit of analysis after taking a mate for a run today would suggest that the scraping noise is only the flange round the drain holes in the tub catching the road, only seems to be a problem when 2 up in the car.
Generally great atoming weekend alround, managed to get several hours in every day, which is how it should be but not always how it is !
cheers
