I think that we may all from time to time have seen that 'resigned' look on the faces of our wives and partners and families when we're talking about the Atom, or tinkering with the Atom, or just whistfully staring into space thinking about the Atom...

It's time to say thank you for all their patience and putting up with us...

...so I suggest a late Summer picnic. I'm open to suggestions as to a venue, but the gardens of a nice house would be more than appropriate, probably significantly north of London, but fairly easily accessible to all. Atoms need not be brought. This would be a fun affair backed by a small subsidy from Club funds.

I was debating whether it should be a two day thing with a hotel, so that one day - say the Saturday - could be a trackday with the wives, partners and families joining us on the Sunday? I'm not sure this would be in the spirit of the 'thank you' though.

Plus the rumour is that the factory is planning something track-like for September/October... this has been on the cards for a few years now, but not actually ever happened yet!

Any other thoughts? Is this a good idea? Am I the only one who has an other half who thinks 'boys and their toys' when the Atom is mentioned?

I think it's a great idea Bruce.

I've had so many hobbies and interests, Ham Radio, Motor Bikes, Cars, Computers etc etc _ I could go on! Most of them are male dominated and often exclude wives or partners.

I just told Angie and she thought I was being cynical!

Count us in.
