supercharger question

But surely, you already have one... after all, you've overtaken me
Five reasons why people get the supercharged:
> They will be able to fully utilise the extra power on track (about three people...)
> It sounds (woooooooop) fabulous
> They want the top of the range regardless
> They want be able to say "over 600 bhp per tonne" and "2.9 seconds 0-60"
> They just want one

Something that every one has missed,
Even in the light weight Atom you spend a lot of time "playing about" with the gears.
As a non expert driver (All laughing, I know) i can struggle trying to think about braking points, Apex's, lines etc all in one go.
From what I gather (our car doesn't arrive till mid June) the supercharged one would do most tracks in the uk in one gear, 5th maybe, and still pull like a train!
I know the proper answer is to get better at driving it, but every little helps!

Just for the majority of us - reasons NOT to have a supercharger:
> It's quite fast enough as it is thank you
> Few can handle the power that the stock 160 delivers, let alone the 220!
> It's an awful lot of money for something you're never really going to be able to take full advantage of
> That much power makes the car positively dangerous in the wrong hands
> It's a bit of a gamble in many ways - reliability, residuals etc.
> The standard car sounds pretty good anyway, and with straight through pipes can sound even better
> If you want to go faster, get lessons - they're cheaper and last a lifetime
I know this won't put anyone off, but it's all true and makes the rest of us feel better!

It is quite an odd one to attach rational logic to - the extra I'd get out of a 300 over a 220 on the circuit is probably fairly insignificant - yet I still wanted the 300. I guess part of it is knowing that if anyone EVER overtakes you, its because you're not trying hard enough. Having a 300 means there's NOTHING else to blame if you're not quick enough - its got to be down to driver.
