NOMAD Roof and other add ones?

As I am hopefully to get my nomad in a few months, has anyone got a rain hood made that can simply be re-ordered to save reinventing the wheel and help out future owners like myself.
I know there is the on in the US but it does not reach the edges and I am sure can be improved upon. It seems to be that one that would tightly hang from the tube running down the middle that could then be opened out on to each side rail and attached there would be useful as then it would not have to be taken off and on and stored... but well, there are many ways to do it so would be grateful to see them.

Also has anyone figured out a simple repeatable way to stop too much water coming into the cabin, which seems to be a problem from the underside of the window and the pedal box and well, everywhere. I know its that kind of car, but if the atom had water coming into it from around the window screen people would be hopping mad about it, so I dont see why nomad users should have to put up with it simply as it can go off road, which I am looking forward to.

Any other useful bits that have been added would be appreciated if they could be explained.. it does seem a trial and error car, great fun and a challenge, but help is always appreciated in getting it right although right for each person is quite different of course. I for one will be a 80% road user and will try to use it everywhere I can and that may involve going to dinner and not wanting to arrive with a soggy just about everything if a shower comes before I head out.

With the ALL encompassing cover, which does not cover all, I am guessing water still comes in through the pedal box and panel fitting at the front?

Good luck with sealing the rain out, I have got very wet plenty of times. The Only solution in my view is a full rain suit for yourself. In the short video , my Nomad has no side panels, obviously making it horrendous, I was caught out by a sudden monsoon downpour in the summer.usually I run with side panels on which improves things, but only slightly.
You will see just briefly in the clip that water is pouring on my bag in the footwell, this is from the windscreen gap !
Within a few mins the passenger seat was full to the top with water & the foot wells flooded, kind of funny as I was near the end of my journey.
General rule is wet roads ok, if there is surface water you are gonna get drowned .
Will watch with interest about the roof.
By far the worst thing for me this year was the heat, on a trip back from Snowdon, we had to get out of the car for a while to cool down, it becomes unbearable for any extended period over about 25 degrees ambient & the direct sun really gets you after a while.

Over the past 6 months of Nomad ownership, I must confess to a fair amount of tinkering with the car.

From a luggage box to a custom roof, quick removable side panels, plugging that rain magnet gap under the windscreen, mudflaps and a cup holder!

I've also tried to write up my notes and musings as best I can on the official Ariel forum - https://www.ariel.club/forum/viewforum.php?f=54 - in the hope that it may be useful to others in the future.

I spent months climbing the waiting list and was slightly obsessed with 'research' while I was waiting, so if I can help you with any questions, fire away...

Why do you think it gets so hot? I will be using it in spain and france where it will be well over 25 . Is it due to no roof and the sun "burn" or the large window screen at its unusual angle maybe brings in too much sun? The radiator return pipes? - which Ive been told send more heat into the cabin if they have the front under body protection on them.

Well I have all this to come, but yes a roof is fundamental, had skin cancer so although I use a convertible already with a cap, I think a roof is a valuable addition even just to make it easier to see sometimes.

Water "proofing" well as Henry says, its all part of the challenge and projects and yes I think Karl has already dealt with the gap between the window and the bonnet area using his roof material and I will try to do the same, or if not a sheet cut up from neoprene, cheap as french fries. Believe it drips in from the corners of the window too which has larger triangular type gaps.....

And all this when it actually hardly ever rains in barcelona ... but still, as i say, projects!

I will keep all posted, but first the painful final several week wait for the car.... ! I dont like the green grass car mats though, will have to find alternative.. I dont want it to look like a mini garden in there.
