Anyone fitted the Stainless Steel Kit in Build?
Discussion
Our old one had it, so will our new one.
All the demo cars built by Ariel seem to have it.
Main benefit is that the fasteners all look shiny two years in. Makes a big difference. Only rust on our one when we sold it was on a washer I fitted under a non-standard mirror.
Cost is because the volume of stainless fittings world wide is a fraction of mild steel, so the scale economies are not there. You should try having Titanium bolts .......

>>>At £397 + VAT must be one heck of a lot of stainless steel!!<<<
and:
>>>My opinion is that you MUST take this option. And I don't understand why it's an option ... <<<
My conclusion: ( sorry for posting “such highly technical garbage” again)
If one average bolt costs 1 GBP, for that money it already be an extraordinary SS item, then this kit will maintain aprox. 400 single items!
Means: Altogether these nuts and bolts must be rather heavy if made in SS. Perhaps titanium would be the better choice.

Hart, when you order your Atom, feel free to ask the factory for a full set of Titanium fastners for the car. I'm sure they would oblige, assuming you can afford it.
Personally I'm happy to be given the option of having some nice fastners which won't rust like the ones you can find on most other production cars especially as so many are exposed on the Atom.
Ariel - thanks for ghaving your priorities right and giving me sensible choices - it was a good idea to leave the rain sensitive ash trays to other car manufacturers.
