Your Bruceness...

You being the all-seeing-eye and all that, I wondered if you had any info on an Atom 300 in York? - I was having a look on the EasyTrack website last night and was checking out Elvington (Airfield) on May 14th (I should have the 220 by then!) and I spotted the 300 registered for a drive. No info on the driver, who's member name is 'Miles350c'. Perhaps you may know Pete?

There are two Atoms on that day. Both red - one a 220 based in Halifax (is that you?) and one a 300 based in York. I don't think I know either of them. If they're members, they certainly haven't entered their trackday on the events calendar. AFAIK Pete's is black and grey (or it was in the winter)

Yes, the 220 is me, but only provisional as I may not have the car in time. I might go along regardless, say hello ans try to get you a new AAOC recruit...

This little thread's got me thinking. You're probably one step ahead with this but:

Why not talk to Simon and see if he would let you put a simple AAOC flyer in with the documentation that accompanies each car that leaves the factory. Even better, sweet talk him into giving every new Atom owner a trial 3 month membership?...Hmmm, I suppose getting his entire customer list would be a tad too cheeky...? I just think that Ariel is such a unique and rarely seen marque, I'm sure all owners would like to know if there are other owners near to them.

P.s. Is your car ready Pete?

I know there is a car near me in Midhurst, West Sussex. Tom was going to pick up the car after he dropped mine off. Anyone own up to this one???

To confirm this is working. When I bought my car from Bruntingthrope they have been asked by Ariel if it was ok to pass on my details to them to give to the OC (iirc)

Ben

p.s. photo of my car now in my profile
p.p.s. what exactly is in the owners documentation pack that is mentioned above ? I have had to work it all out for myself, not rocket science but a map of the fuse box would have been nice.

Have you got a delivery date for the 220 yet? What spec did you go for in the end?

Mine came with a whole host of goodies. Piece of paper telling me the battery was ...ummm ...a battery. Registration document. Tax disc. What more do you need...

Not gone overboard, as the motors costing A LOT more than I wanted to spend in the first place

Comp rod ends, high level brake light, anti banana skin coating. That's it. Everything else is already on the car. If my missus ever finds out...

What big grey thing? My battery's red!

One of the key reasons for the owners club's existence is to offer a source of all knowledge about the car - we're even writing a proper owners' manual with the words 'Congratulations on buying your new Ariel Atom' on the inside front cover! We'll be selling it to raise funds. If you're a member, much of the information you need is available on the member's only section of the website

The factory likes the OC's existence because then they don't have to produce stuff and simply provide owners with that single sheet of 'how to start it' paper and the tax disc.

Due to Data Protection, the factory can't give us the names and addresses of all Atom owners (they don't know half of them any more anyway), so we produced a newsletter which hopefully some of you got. This was mailed direct from the factory and we're hoping that people who got the mailing will join the club.

That'll be the road ...which explains why you've parked on the grass!

Oh ...I'd given you the credit for mailing that! (after I lost the one you gave me at Bedford)

The rod ends were the only thing missing really from what was otherwise a very good spec ...and I thought it already had the anti-slip coating ....or maybe I was just too busy having fun on the way down to the factory to notice!!
