The S1 Elise has 1,6 m square . The Atom certainly has less but is there somebody who knows it better?

BTW: Drag of the S1 Elise is 0,4 to 0,42 depending on tyres etc.
I guesstimate the Atom has 0,65 to 0,7 plus lift.

Don't know, but I can tell you that an Atom 220 with me driving and Bruce (110kg) as ballast is faster round the Ring than an Exige with Dickie Meaden driving it - and he knows his way around.

Hart,
Nobody has the answer to your question, or perhaps only Simon ...

Yes Simon should know at least the frontal area since he pulled his Atom into a wind tunnel. Wasn’t it MIRA’s?

Please, Jean-Pascal, ask Simon next time you meet him to collect your Atom Noir or does he read the nonsense we write in this forum? In that case he might answer here please.

Hart,
Best way to obtain an answer from Simon is to ask him directly, by mail.
I don't know if he is reading this forum, but i'm 99% sure he will not begin to answer on a forum (this one or another). Its job is to produice and sell car, not to spend time on a forum, so direct contact with him.

You raised a good point there, Harmut...

I can confirm that Simon, Tom etc do NOT read this Pistonheads site.

They did once but decided it wasn't helpful.

Anyone posting on here in the hope that the factory will be reading it will be sadly disappointed.

Bruce
I would be rather surprised if they really do not read at least what their customers experienced when driving their car and the questions potential customers still have.

This is valuable information / feed back for each car manufacturer and I know that most have some people for collecting it.

In Lotus organisation once they had Nick Adams who also replied to critical questions and he did a very good job.

Of course this may become a fulltime task very soon and not every technician is able to write as well as he might be able to calculate and to prepare technical drawings.

But there is still another possibility to react:

Answers can be given from time to time in the next update of the company’s WS. Let’s wait and see!

You can wait as long as you like, Harmut - Ariel is not 'most car manufacturers'. Take my word for it. The factory relies on feedback through meeting owners and others in the real world. Simon (and the factory itself) barely has an email address!

As for answering questions, they rely on the goodwill and collective knowledge of the owner base to help others - which is why the AAOC was the only logical conclusion!

We have an expression in the UK, JP - people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

Err. It's loose and Nomex, but it is red! And some girls think it's sexy - well my wife does...

Leave that perv-o-shine alone!

Not very practical in an Atom...
