I'm thinking of my long term car asperations for the next year or so and I'm down to a Tamora as my only car or two, something like a S2000 and an Ariel for sunny days track etc.

If I go the Ariel route what are the genuine practicalities of weather protection on the road. I assume I would go for side panals and bubble screens. If this is the case can I get away with helmet and gortex jacket or do you need the full works even in light rain.

Does the extended getting in etc really start to piss you off after a while. I assume the vis is great, what about parking though.

Can you fit a helmet in the front locker?

Any advice or thoughts welcome.

Not unless you have a very small head . . .

I'm probably the wrong person to comment, but you only really need more than goretex and lid for long journeys or really cold days (i.e. <5 degrees).

In practise, even in heavy rain, its only your upper body which gets wet, unless you stop :-)

Getting in and out is no bother at all. Belts take all of 20 secs to put on, then whack the lid on and off you go.

You'll find an Atom a LOT more nimble than a T350c. You'll also find that the build quality is excellent (as an ex-Griff owner, I appreciate the foibles of the trevor) Not sure I would go for an S2000 AND and Atom, though. I think you might want a bit more contrast - maybe a classic?

Weather protection with the bubbles and sidescreens is pretty good. At anything above 20mph, you'll pretty much stay dry. Windproofing is the key issue.

Getting in and out is just a matter of practise, and when the belts are set for you, it's pretty straighforward. It'll probably take about three times as long as a normal belt.

The front cubbyhole is about the size of a large glovebox. No helmets - except, maybe one of those Harley style ones with the leather earflaps.
