Atom sharing proposal
Discussion
Hi all,
I've been doing a lot of thinking and a lot of calculations.
1. I've decided that I want a 220 not a 140 - thanks to MC.
2. I've realised that I can't afford to go solo on it.
3. The only way around my situation is to do a 50/50 share with someone.
If anyone owns a 220 OR wants to buy a 220, lives in Surrey (or nr. Surrey) and wishes to split the ownership costs (50/50) with me then please get in touch.
All the best,
Jonny Tooze

Cheers Bruce, the more exposure that I get the more likely it is that I'll have an Atom soon!!
I know it's not the best situation and there may be issues that wouldn't occur if I owned it all, but then again, it's better to have an Atom half the time than not at all!
To be honest, it feels better this way too. Apart from the fact I'll be able to buy a house now, I think it'll suit my lifestyle a lot better. There's so many times when I have to drop a hobby for a week or so while I'm busy with my various ventures. If I'm sharing then at least the Atom won't be rotting in my garage, it'll be out on the open road where it belongs!
Really great idea about putting a section on the site, as I'm sure there are loads of like minded individuals out there that share my situation. Hopefully I'll be catching up with a few of them soon...
I'm thinking about drafting some ideas for a "back of a fag packet" agreement for 'sharers' that might be handy for others in the same boat - maybe post it on the site as a guide?. MC has probably got some good ideas on this one, doesn't he share his 220 (soon to be 300!)?
Cheers,
Jonny

Check out the scale below:
Concorde
[XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX]
Atom
[XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX......]
Clio (rounded up to the nearest X)
[X..................................]
No offence intended. I used to own a Clio and loved thrashing the crap out of it. In fact read the thread about running in engines, as I'm sure my Clio went faster than it should have. In fact, I had a banger race with 72 miles on the clock: luckily it wasn't smashed to pieces.
Ariel Atom is just a totally different league to anything with a windscreen, doors or a stereo!

Is Herts too far?
Note sure really, depends where abouts in Herts I guess!
It takes about an hour and a bit to get there from Guildford (A3 for 10 mins to M25 for about 50 mins then turn off onto the M1/A1 for about 20) so not that bad really considering I currently commute over 100 miles and 3 hours every day!
Email me through my profile and we can talk about it in more detail.
Cheers for the interest.

Nice scale!!!! having not flown in Concord it's pretty usless but i've been told they where quick! Getting my Atom In two weeks, so lets hope they're all that they're cracked up to be. Any tips for a partially sighted first time driver?
I've not bought one yet, I'm still trying to get someone to share the expenditure with me. Although I have been in two, both of which were like rollercosters on amphetamines.
I have no experience of a) driving a car as fast as the Atom (although I have driven a F355 and a crazy fast Evo7) and b) being partially sighted so I don't think I am qualified to comment! Just out of interest, does being partially sighted affect your driving normally?
Cheers,
Jonny
Well, we're taking a blind guy out in an Atom very shortly, so we can do a comparison - I think he wants to drive, too, so Simon can sort him out a car for that one!
Incidentally, the sharing page on the website is pretty much complete now (just waiting for legal tick on the agreement)
