Bedford Trackday
Discussion
Hi all,
Just a quicky to say thanks a lot to Bruce for arranging the first AAOC Track day.
I know we chicken'd out and left about 2.30 (missing the oncoming weather) but the day was great.
Can't wait for the next one.(and yes I'll return you the form Bruce).
Hope to see you all again soon.
Julian

I too had a great day. My ears are still ringing. It was great to meet you all.
Shame about my starter button or should I say the imobilizer. I got to a garage in Bedford turned off the engine and when I went to restart, nothing. Had to push the car away from the pumps! Some very unfriendly comments came my way. Eventually rung the AA. As I was doing so a van came into the garage and a very nice man helped me. He managed to bypass the imobiliser and jump start the car. (He seemed to think it's the conection to the starter motor which needs stripping off and replacing.)
So having left the track at 3pm eventually got home at 7.30pm. Thanks for the gloves, Bruce , a real life saver. Towards the end very wet and cold, but it was still great fun scaring the hell out of people over taking them in the pouring rain. (Still within the speed limit.) Any one would think they were the ones who couldn't see where the hell they were going.
I am looking forward to the next one. Which for me is Spa on 25th May. Who else is going and have you book the tunnel or ferry? Let me know, I will try to join you.

Got home about 8pm, one of my headlights ( in tow car ) blew on the wack back - had to drive the last 100 miles without it
Some pics here, http://pbf.fotopic.net but I didnt get chance to take many - too busy driving!
Thanks to all involved,
Pete.

Trackday was superb - fantastic fun. Amazed at the difference changing the suspension settings made - turns it into even more of a racing car than it was before. And I'm told the MK2 is even better on track. However, don't try to drive home with a race set-up on it like I did - its practically impossible to drive anywhere without it wanting to bounce into the nearest ditch!
And as for headlight problems in a tow car - there's a lesson to be learned here - don't tow your Atom home - drive it home!

Just to say a big thank you to all of you who came. I had a great time meeting you all, and it's a superb start for the AAOC!
And weren't we lucky with the weather!
Thanks, Pete for those pics - If anyone has any others, I'd be very grateful if you'd send them to me regardless of size - my broadband can cope with nice biguns!) If you have any of gathered Atoms and owners, that would be fab, too! I think it was a bit cold for a photo parade - maybe next time (and there's sure to be more of us as the factory builds them as fast as they can sell them!).

Didn't believe = Completely forgot to change it back before going home!!
Not a mistake I'll be making again ...til the next trackday no doubt!
