I'm thinking about a Javelin Trackday at East Furtune (just south of Edinburgh). I noticed the following and wondered if the "standard" roll-our protection was sufficient for them or whether they would insit on addition roll-over protection:

"From 1st January 2005 we have taken the decision that all OPEN topped cars must have some form of adequate roll over protection. This may take the form of a supplementary roll bar, hoops or protection built into the design of the vehicle"

Anyone have any thoughts?

Quote from the Ariel website:

"The unique safety levels afforded by the high side rails and lack of doors are complemented by integrated front and rear rollover tubes, giving driver and passenger a safety cell."

So I guess, to all intents and purposes, the Atom passes this test.

Also, Pete has been going to lots of Javelin days at Elvington with no problems.

So I'd say you'll be fine.

You just need to get the miles on between delivery and 14/15 May!

I'll be interested to have your comments on the track, too... I don't think any of us has been to that one yet.

Yep, Javelin are fine and the rollover protection on the Atom is good enough for them!

I was with them at Elvington again on Saturday and a plane had to make an emergency landing on the main runway - wondered what all the red flags were for!

Cheers,

Pete.
