If you've never been on a Palmersport Motorsport Sensation day, then you really can't count yourself a petrolhead.

For 2005, on one amazing day, you get to drive all of these vehicles to the max - and I mean as hard as you want to:

> Formula Palmer Audi Single seater
> Caterham 7 superlight
> Clio Cup Race Car
> Vauxhall Frontera off-road
> Mitsubishi Evo VI (including jumps)
> Vauxhall VX220 Turbo
and...
> a Palmer Jaguar JP1 Le Mans car

All day (apart from the single seater, obviously) there's an experienced instructor sat beside you - I once had Justin Wilson shouting 'power, power, power' beside me - urging you to go faster, brake later and turn quicker than you ever dreamed possible.

The reason I mention this on a forum whose native population is largely speed freaks is threefold.

Firstly, it's a great day out and probably the best five hundred-odd smackers you'll ever spend in one mad day.

Secondly there are a number of new Atom owners who have never done a trackday and will want to know what a track's like and how to act on one and what cars like the Atom are truly capable of. This one day will leap you right up the learning curve like a lusty salmon.

And thirdly (and you knew this was coming) if we get enough AAOC members along to these days, we can get a rebate which we can pass back to the membership, either in the form of cash back to those who have taken part, or in Club fun stuff... see more posts next week...

We need more than ten in one year for the rebates to kick in, so get booking! Incidentally, it also makes an amazing corporate day - I should know, as over the years I've hosted three and been on four more!

For more details, see: www.motorsportsensation.com/

Oh, and the Christmas bit is that this is cumulative, so at the end of the year they'll tot up all the AAOC business they've had and then rebate us the cash in time for the holidays!

That definitely sounds like a good laugh. I'll have to count the pennies...
