Stunned by the huge interest
Discussion
I went on my first trackday of 2005 yesterday (Bedford), and was amazed at the increased interest in the Atom. It's always been a crowd puller, but now it attracts hoardes! It seemed that everyone on that trackday had seen Clarkson's wobbling jowls and I was asked for rides more than ever before. I hope that JC is on SS's Christmas card list list from now until forever!
Incidentally, I happened upon Alan who's the boss of from Ace Performance Vehicle Lighting (the LED experts) at the day. He's also going to be at the March 5th day, and will be delighted to dicuss lighting options with us, and I asked for and got an AAOC discount, natch!
Oh, and nothing overtook me all day. Nothing. Including the three Porsche GT3RS' that were there. Ok, apart from on the back straight... but I caught them up through the twisties and passed them before the straight behind the pits.
Who are you calling slow now, JP?

Yes, it was sunny and dry in the morning, and cloudy and dry in the afternoon, but icy cold! The temperature was about 5 degrees centigrade to start, rising to about 8 degrees in the afternoon, so thermals all round! The tyres never got more than lightly warm... But the engine did boil over at the end of a very hot lap when I left it running for a few minutes when changing passengers. I hope to have that fixed in a couple of weeks...
Before going to a track day and perhaps one time during the track day when engine is half warm, you have to open the small screw on the top of the front radiator so that the air goes out and you close it when water beginns to arrive. Be carefull, open it very slow but never totaly. With making, this you'll have no water overheat.
