When speaking to Simon last week, he's now selling Autocom gear. I've seen others (Tecstar) on the web. I'd appreciate any advice about what to go for (I don't see any reason to go above £200).

Also, is it worth asking for a power socket to be wired into the car.

Many thanks.

We're having a comms expert from UltimateEar coming to Bedford on March 5th. They deal with all the major manufacturers and so will hopefully be able to recommend the right solution. Most people that I've heard of use Autocom, and I have used it on bike and it's very good - especially at cutting down background noise.

And definitely get the socket fitted - you'll probably want heated clothing in Scotland! However, some heated clothing uses BMW-style plugs, so it's worth checking which type you'll need.

The AAOC has negotiated discounts with UltimateEar for in-ear monitors and comms, and with Chilli heated clothing company. More details with the first newsletter - out in a couple of weeks!
