Right, finally thawed out enough to post!

If anyone wants to know how the Atom handles in 70Mph gusts, hail and drving rain, then Elvington was the place to be!

Far too windy to have any form of course layed out with cones so the whole section of the airfield was used ( two runways linked via the top ends to form a large oval ( about 60 to 80 secs a lap, dont remember full distance - could easilt travel at 120+ down the straights )

Pics of Bruces old car with new colour here, and also with 15in wets on.

Thanks Bruce for the help, turned out to be a loose battery that cut out for just enough for the dash to get confused - no idea of what speed it was nor the revs - down side is the fuel gauge also threw a wobbly - 15L left on display, none in tank, long roll back to the pits!

Back again on 22nd, hoping for full on snow this time

Cheers,

Pete.

You've shamed me into getting on track a bit earlier than I was thinking - I'm doing the Easytrack day at Bedford on Saturday Feb 5th...

Glad it wasn't anything serious with the dash. There should be a wide 'rubber band' with clips either end holding the battery down. If not, I'm sure the factory can help out with one! As for the fuel gauge, they're notorious and total works of fiction. I always put a jerrycan in at lunchtime regardless of what the gauge says. The other trick all Atoms do is reading 15 litres one second, and 4 litres the next! The best way to measure is that you'll probably be doing around 12-15 mpg on a track day, so just check the mileage...

Colour looks great, by the way. Still think you should have left it bright, though - then 'they' can see you coming up behind on track!

Hi Pete,

Glad to hear you had a good day, despite the atrocious weather.

Glad to see the back of the turquoise as well (sorry Bruce)

Yep, a good day was had, the most fun was watching someone trying to pitch a tent!

I think I'll be speeding up my search for a tow car too, had a wheel fall off my run around car!

Cheers,

Pete.
