Does anyone know if a sequential gearbox is an option / has one fitted. Would it be a benefit?

I know it's not an option from the factory although I guess if a sequential box is available for the Honda engine then I guess you could try and make the appropriate mods yourself to make it fit.

Not sure that the cost/hassle would be worth it to be honest.

The gearbox that comes with the Honda engine is pretty good anyhow.

Cheers, Ross.

You could ask Ariel for a sequential box and they'd sort it for you but it would *not* be cheap. If you've tried the standard (shortened-throw close-ratio 6-speed) gearbox you're unlikely to want a sequential box - the shift action is gorgeous.

There is a Sagev one which bolts straight onto the Honda mill. They are about £7,500. I have one in the Clio I race and its utterly great. BUT: the linkage would be very tough to sort; they are a very specialist piece of kit; reverse is a pain in the neck and you can't skip gears when you are feeling lazy. Its a LOT harsher (you don't use the clutch on upshifts) than a standard box and they are very noisy, since the gears are straight cut for extra power (and racers don't care about noise). They are faster on a track.

It's certainly a SADEV gear box.

That's the phrase, SADEV, thanks JP. Knew it was something like that. BTW, the price I referred to is the Clio Cup (European spec) one. The UK spec one is even more expensive, so I would think that one where they have to put a different bell-housing-connector on it would be even more
