After a few nightmare jaunts in the Atom where I've lost my way I'm considering a Satnav system for use with my new Atom.

Anyone any experience with Satnavs in general? Anyone used one in the Atom?

Cheers, Ross.

I've got a Garmin IQ3600 PDA/satnav which has seen stirling duty touring France on bike and is used in the Atom and with my normal transport. The buttons are a bit small for gloved hands, so it can be problemmatic, though having said that, it was the most accurate and least troublesome out of all those used on the French bike tour last year. It isn't waterproof, but I have it suspended from the main dashboard x-member under cover and it plugs into my comms system so I can listen to the instructions as well as watch the map. I would imagine that there are now more suitable ones for gloved hands (would recommend you look at bike dealerships - eg. I know the new Triumph ST will be available with biker-friendly a satnav system), but I would still recommend the IQ3600 any day.

BMW market a bike-specific one, which is waterproofed and suitable for gloved fingers.

Ross have you chose a Satnav for your car yet?
