Unusual headlights

Anyone recognise this headlight setup?



I think it's South African... It also has the nicer (IMHO) MkI mirrors.

Odd - I've not come across those - they do look like they'd be more stable though.

Is it a mark I? From the front indicator mount, it looks like it to me, also, it says 'Ariel Atom 100' which is a bit baffling.

This is one of the modifications that the original Australian importer attempted to get Australian compliance for the vehicle in 2001 or so. They're the same headlights on a different mount. They made some other fairly horrible modifications so I wouldn't be too enamoured of the car ...
