Can anybody remember their track day sound meter reading? I'm interested to know roughly what a Atom 2 160 reads in decibels.

Also, I'd like to hillclimb the Atom and wondered what MSA class it falls into. As they produce <100/yr then I think its Modified Kit, has anybody done anything like this and therefore know for sure?

Cheers.

Sorry - don't know. Hopefully, Richard will let us know! My Mk1 165bhp dB score at 4,500 rpm was usually around 95-98.

I think Mk2's hit about the same levels. However, if anyone knows differently, I'm sure we'd all like to know - also does having the cat bypass make any difference?

From talking to Tom, I think the cat bypass makes a small difference but it's hardly noticable and won't cause any problems at trackdays.

Any Atom with the normal exhaust system should not have any problems getting through the usual trackday noise tests.

The only person I've heard of with problems has been Julian, but I think he has the sports exhaust that Ariel used to offer as an option - it does sound nice though.

It would be great if Ariel could come up with a selectable bypass system so you could have it nice and noisy for the road, but normal for trackdays.
