Following on from Pete's blinding deal with Footman James, I called them to see what they would quote me to be told that although the premium was lower, they didn't do track day insurance on Atoms!

So even though AON is more expensive, the track day insurance is the clincher for me - at £25 extra per track day, I don't think we'll find better ...

...unless someone already has!

Hi Bruce,

That saved me a call!
Think I'll stick with the 200 premium over FJ, at 450 quid its still good value.

Gave the car a quick blast yesterday, just goggles and a hat - car in front threw up a stone that hit me on the side of the head, thought I'd been shot!
Helmet on at all times methinks...

Peter.

What was your quote from them? And how much for track days?

I'm with Adrian Flux and paying just over 200 squids for my 160. This excludes track day cover. I don't somehow think they do trackday cover.

Cor, we are being done: nearly £800 for the two of us, but that is with one of us in Fulham and with a £40k claim last year. Includes track days.

When I originally tried Adrian Flux back in 2000/2001, they really weren't much help at all whereas FJ were great.

Although FJ don't include (or even offer) trackday cover, I can't recommend them highly enough for the level of service they gave me.

The included breakdown cover saved me a couple of times as well!

Cheers, Ross.

Adrian Flux - what stars!

Over a ton cheaper than AON for fully comp, £54 for unlimited track days and lots of add-on bells and whistles too!

Ta for the tip!

Edited to add that I've just spoken to their Club and Group schemes guy and they're now on board for discounts for Ariel Atom Owners Club members - i.e. anyone that owns one! Richard - might be worth a call...

Nice one Bruce, that sounds good. I'll certainly check with them before buying insurance for my new Atom.

Result for me, £350 inc unlimited trackdays, 5K Miles, 200 excess ( not sure if this increases with the trackday, have to confirm! )

Cheers Bruce, I'll think of this as a discount on the car!

Peter.

My premium's based on the car being valued at £28k. Apparently someone was valuing a track car similar to an Atom at £100k for insurance purposes . I imagine that they probably would pay a pretty penny for that.

How much do you have yours down for for insurance purposes, Jon?

Despite the 6 figure build cost, I could probably rebuild a new car for 55-60k so i have it insured for that amount.

The majority of the development costs have been made, but I wouldnt use the rover engine this time!!

I tried to get it insured for £100k and no-one would! Ive done mine through Competition Car Insurance, but they require a race license, but it is covered on track which is nice

Just sorted mine out - premium for an old fart living on the front line in Central London running an Atom worth £28k with a £300 xs (up to £2k for trackdays) was just £443 including unlimited track days - RESULT!!!

Hi Bruce,

Do you have a contact at Adrian Flux? I just rang them and they seemed a bit clueless to be honest.

They offered £390 fully comp which isn't bad, but said that only included 10% discount and trackdays would be an extra £50 per trackday.

They didn't seem to have any realy knowledge of the text you've quoted from them above - do you have that in an email you can forward to me?

Cheers, Ross.

Yes I do. It's on its way...

I have a suspicion that with the exception of those on PH, the best people aren't always at their desks the week before Christmas!

Thanks Bruce - not received it yet though...

Are you sure yours and Pete's deal with them included unlimited trackday cover for a single payment of £54?

Cheers, Ross.
