Is anyone interested in my setting up a day of instruction with Robb Gravett? He runs Ultimate Car Control, which is the only firm I know of that actually teaches car dynamics, rather than just encouraging you to go faster.

If there is enough interest, I can see if I can persuade him to do an Atom-only day. The more there are, the cheaper, so probably worth it if we can get 6 or 8 to keep costs down. Usually would be on a weekend, based at the TRL in Crowthorne (just off jn3 of the M3).

Let me know.

I'd certainly be interested, though I'm assuming you'd plan it for sometime in the spring.

Why not! Sounds like a pleasant day out in the country and I'm definitely up for it.

I'd like the outside temperature to be around 18 degrees and dry weather, but not necessarily sunny - this may affect the time of year we go (my brief actually sounds a bit like June

Sounds good, I'd be interested.

Do we use our own cars? If so, it would be good if it could be April onwards as I doubt I'll have a new Atom before then.

Cheers, Ross.

You can use your own car, or his. Robb has BMW Z3s at the moment, but they change most years, so I don't know what he will have next year. I would use your own if you can, you learn a lot more. I agree that it would ideally be warm and sunny: the counterpoint is that you learn more if its slippery, so damp is good as well! We could always do more than one day . . .

I would think that we need to get 8 people together, which should bring the price down to about £250 each. Maybe 6 would be enough, but then its £340 or thereabouts for the day. Includes lunch and so on.

I've done a couple of two-to-one days there and thought it was brilliant, especially when I did left-foot braking. He runs an ice driving course in Scandinavia too, which I am trying in the spring.

Blimey! I guess you got a good price.

Do you think it will be easier registering your next Atom over in France now that you've done it once?

Cheers, Ross.
