Bizarre thing to want to rant about, but I just had a set of custom-made earplugs made with speakers in, by www.ultimateear.com

Really changes long journeys: quiet and with music (iPod), so much less tiring. Of course, when you get to a twisty section, you can just pause the iPod and let rip.

Expensive at £135 with speakers, less so at £55 without, but you only have one pair of ears.

I would offer to let people try them, but . . . .

Not too bizzare as Ive been looking for some recently! I want to change helmets, and all of the peltor equipment is built into the helmets, so I was thinking of getting the same done but having one with a throat mic.

Thats a good price though, think i might wait till the autosport show, see if there are any deals to be had, along with a new simpsons lid

I've just had earplugs made by the same outfit, saw them at the bike show in Birmingham

So when you say custom made - does that mean you've got to go to them and have a mould of your inner ear taken or something???

But I agree, ear plugs should be top of every Atom owner's list.

I like the look of that heated clothing you have as well Meyrick.

Cheers, Ross.

The postman just delivered mine! Amazing fit, but a bit like girls shoes...

The logic:
I have just bought a new pair of shoes
...so I need a new handbag to go with them
...and a new outfit to go with the shoes and handbag
...and a new coat to match
...and jewellery

So, I am now designating my current, Autocom fitted lid as the 'spare' and getting a new lid with just an Autocom mic as I had the foresight to order the bit from Ultimate Ear that allows you to plug into the Autocom speaker wiring. Sorry, you'll have to speak up... Sorry, still can't hear you...

They'll be great on planes, too - I normally wear noise cancelling Sennheisers, but I think these will be even better!

Incidentally, I've negotiated a bulk club discount on these if we order more than ten sets. Any more for any more?

edited to add: I have a 10% discount voucher that came with mine. If that's all the discount you want, email me for it and I'll send it to you.

I'll certainly be planning on getting some of these once my new Atom's arrived.
