Anyone else apart from Dentz had the full tank fuel issue with the MkII? This is the one where you get black flagged for trailing a thin stream of fuel when the tank's full...

Hi Bruce they have fixed the problem now. the overflow pipe was to low on the early mk 2s they now run them up and around the air intack ,they have supplyed me with new hose and clips but have still not fitted yet due to work and weather. i believe that the fuel spillage is also causing the slight brown staining im getting on the chassi around the exhaust pipe . first i thought it was heat but i dont think it is. i think i left myself open for lots of rude comments there still never mind.

Hi,
Have the same problem middle of july on a track day on Le Mans Bugatti. Have told that to Simon who answered me the same (no high enougth so have to go up to the Air box and go down to the END of the car).
You are right, the colour change is due to the fuel, not to the heat, because the small fuel tube was not going to the END of the chassis.
Simon told me that New models were modified on this point.
I have done the modification myself with no problem.

Other point, after a problem of metallic dust in the fuel and injectors, I have put a fuel filter after the pump (just before the small "regulator" on the fuel line).
I have used a Peugeot 206 S16 one, perfect and easy to put.
Simon was thinking to do that to, on new models (my opinion is that it's an absolute necessity, as on every car on the market (filter before AND after the pump))

I have been pulled in a few times over the fuel spillage issue, once by an Irate driver who said I showered him with petrol and he nearly went off the track.
When my car went back to the factory in July something was done to cure this, don't know what, as I left the car with them for two days while I was sight seeing.
JP-The fuel filter idea is a good one ,I will fit one myself next week.

Whatever the factory did to my fuel breather worked, not a drop came out at castle coombe, and thats a seriously quick track.
