Spot the similarity?

See the story in Autocar here:

I seem to recall that BMW buy the first TVR off the line each time they launch a new model, too...

Simon says that when they bought it, they claimed their designers were interested in lightweight cars and it was for a student project... Mind you at 1 litre and 0-100kph in 7 seconds, he's not got much competition...

Would be more interesting if it was a bit more hardcore, but as it is, it just looks a bit too 'Noddy'.

Cheers, Ross.

More than an ATOM rip-off I would say its a Grinnal Scorpion 4 rip-off.

Nice photoshoped images...

I guess big industry is trying to get in theSpecialist/kit car niche!!

what a better way then to buy in someone..........now that I think of it the Scorpion 4 has an AUDI engine.........that gets me thinking??!! a deal somewhere...

Cheers

...not to mention a Lotus 340R, but they actually admit to the Atom bit!

To be fair to VW, if they price it right (ie. less than £20k) and think about sticking more power in it, they'd probably have a nice car and plenty of orders.

Not keen on all that body work though.

Cheers, Ross.
