popped around Chris's today, he had a hole in his dashboard where the Safety Devices fire suppression system button was once fitted, the complete system was all removed pretty quickly when he first got the GTS and passed onto Nad, but the hole remained until this afternoon

Chris brought the Honda S2000 starter button (£50 off ebay) as recommended by the VCA crowd, and got a couple of his mates to install it, a simple task only x3 wires to solder into the wiring loom. He had it set so he can still start with the key or use the button, though it can be set so you use the button only after turning the iginition on

he's now all decided that he will be selling his GTS, to fund a new house with a double garage, after years of squeezing into a single garage.

He's also up right up there with Zub and Baz having only completed 120 miles in the last 2 years !!!

fitting the button into your cigarette lighter hole is the best place ive seen for one, and doesnt involve drilling out your expensive dashboard

you need clearance where ever you put it, as its sbout 80mm long x 30mm diameter overall

idea Now that's a thought, putting it there thumbup I was thinking of going down the route that James took with his Black GTS but I was having second thoughts about drilling holes in the dash frown

However I do use the lighter socket for the Road Angel, so I would need to fit an accessory socket somewhere else scratchchin

Lots of newer cars seem to have these type Engine start buttons now, I was thinking about a black and chrome one from another car, I have no idea on the wiring but I guess a relay of some sort is involved?

yes there's a relay included with a little wiring loom out the back, it would be a simple job to move the cigarette lighter to any where you want

Looks great, simple to do and if you give charity rides / take passengers, they love being able to press that button! Mark, the BMWs use black / chrome ones, but they are a bit bigger, looks like they are made for people with poor eyesight eek
