Just a note to say a big thanks Barry for organising the "Luton Lunch", well done again, it is a great pity that 2 people did not pay their lunch bill, it makes you think!!!! If you had forgotten, just give Barry a call and get it paid, it is not fair on him.soapbox

Now I've go the motherly moan out of the way, it was great to see the "old" faces and I'm glad we had a couple of new, we are looking however to increase the "coven" numbers for future, it is all in good fun-we don't make spells honestly. It would be good if we could manage a few more outings, where the cars can be talked about and the ladies can get together too.drunk

So was it a success ????

Well Baz got stiffed for 40 quid and the naughty table left paper planes on the floor for others to skivvy and clear some did not enjoy them in the desert and not a mention of a tip exept by the Wizard.

I honestly think we should be ashamed of ourselves, someone bothers to organise something, AND INVITES OTHERS, not posting what a great time they had at another event they didn't invite us too and then they have the cheek to stiff the organiser.

Someone....you know who you are........................do the decent thing, pay up or contact the pub explain you paid at the bar and get Baz a refund.

I had a great time, even though I was on the naughty table, although in fairness not all paperplanes took off from that table, (although we did start it). But point taken, we should have cleared up our mess before leaving.

Find it hard to believe that someone did not pay their way, must be an oversight surely. Did anyone not show and we still had to cover that bill, i.e Sir Steve.

Don't want Baz to be out of pocket over this, so if not resolved, £20 from me Baz next time I see you. ( yep I did pay and I gave a tip only a £5, but I did leave a tip with my cash to Baz)

Great day Baz, thanks very much, fantastic to see you all, enjoyed the experience of seeing fatboy's son eat cauliflower covered with mustard for the first time. his face was a picture!!

Look forward to seeing you all soon. biggrin

Great event Baz, much appreciated

Just to clarify a few things..............
Baz double checked the bill with both the staff at the pub and Jenny, and yes all of those who paid at the bar were taken into account. Still money was short.

I agree totally with Paul, and not because I am Baz's wife. Baz paid for those who decided to not cough up out of his own pocket, and chuck left a tip from the viperclub UK??????????
Is this right from a small club who many class as friends?

I hope whoever you are, you are ashamed of yourself.........

Sorry I do have to confess I did not consider the tip. I suppose I just assumed the service charge would have been included but thats not to say we shouldnt have left extra. Baz check your bank account I have sent you some to go towards your out of pocket expense and if you do get the money from what I hope was a forgetfull person then put it in the drinks kitty for your next pub visit with Chuck.

I do hope someone makes good though as it will put people off orginising events, and I very much want to see Luton lunch 2012.

Just as you think you make it clear to buy drinks seperatly to avoid being stuck with the drinks tab this happens. rolleyes

Sorry we did not leave a tip, but was one of the first to pay up the £40 for Laurie and myself. I did think the £20 per head was a nice round number and probably included a small service charge? We also bought our drinks separately to keep things simple. Baz knows my works not good at the moment but even I will help chip in if no one pays up.

I'm sure it's an oversight by someone. Baz - you need to email all who attended as they may not read this.

I had assumed the £20 a head included service charge, it normally does on big parties.

Nah, 2003 was the year I brought the GTS and I either didn't have it in time or didn't know about the event, Steve's BBQ was my first one.

It is a bit bad though that in all those years of Luton lunch i don't recall there being one where i could drive the 60 miles up the M3, M25 and M1 without there being Major road works at least once on the journey.
