Bruntingthorpe Asda charity day Sat 13th Aug
Discussion
The lack of a group of Vipers was greatly missed last year, here's this years info and date, nice and early notice to plan around if you want to go with your car....
(Dave, I'll leave it to you to add to the events list if OK)
First of all, the On Your Marks Team wish to thank everyone that helped and attended the on Your Marks 2010 Charity day. The day was a fantastic success and the £21,000 raised from the day is shortly to be given to the 2 nominated Charities, Sparks and Wishes For Kids, each receiving £10,500 each. It is with great pleasure that we can announce the date for the On Your Marks 2011 grand family charity day is on: SATURDAY 13th AUGUST 2011 at our usual venue, Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, Leicestershire. This has been our 'home' for the past 9 years and is ideally suited for the type of day we organise. By request from Bruntingthorpe, we have been asked to move our day from a Sunday to a Saturday because of local environmental noise issues. We have confirmed our usual special deal at the Hinckley Island 4 star Hotel for just £55 per night per room for 2 with breakfast included (if anyone does want to take advantage of this deal, let me know via PM and I'll give you a reference code to book - Nad) they will also be putting on free minibus shuttles from the hotel to 2 local pubs, the Hinckley Knight and the Three Pots Harvester where you can get good quality beer and food at a reasonable price.
As this is our 10th anniversary year and the organisers want to make the show even more spectacular, if anyone has or knows of anything special that would enhance the day even further, please do not hesitate to contact myself and I'll give you the contact for John or Chris, and they will follow any leads up. Around March / April time a poster that will advertise the event will be released.
Some pics from last year, it really is a great day out with plenty to see and do for family's, besides drive your Viper giving rides around the track in aid of charity.

I know I was told it was being moved to a proper circuit, shame we all missed it last year, but most of my stone chips came from Brunters !!!
But I will probably be there.
Yeah, i was looking forward to it being somewhere where i wouldn't leave with a broken windscreen (OK just a really bad chip, but the thing was only 6 months old!!) and a stack of nasty chips in my paint. But I will probably be there.

Ive heard from so many people that there cars have been damaged at this venue, Even last year a friend of mine almost got his mustang wiped out by a TVR and cost him a few quid to repair the damage.
Sadly I'm going to give this venue a wide berth
Hes a friend of mine as well, i was there in my mustang, i think it was just unlucky, and it was the last lap of the day as well. I used 2 tanks of fuel and went around 45 times...Sadly I'm going to give this venue a wide berth

I will likely not be available this year anyway, but even if I was, I think I'd be questionning whether to attend after the gravel rash and windscreen chips many of us experienced last time... If Only they spent some time with some mechanical road-sweepers on that runway I am sure it would make the world of difference.
