Hi Guys and girls,

Little question for you that has got me and other stumped! Has anybody ever had water in their headlining? I'm not talking about a damp headliner, I mean water between the headliner and roof. I noticed when I backed my '97 GTS off the drive this morning that a river of water moved towards the back of the car and exited the headliner onto my left shoulder! There was enough water to probably fill a coffee cup! The passenger however side seems to be relatively unaffected.

Cheers for any help or theories!

Craig

Some GTS have a problem with the sealant surrounding the windscreen
most of the time the leak was in the area where the mirror is located

Hi,i had this problem with my f150,thought it was just down to outside verses inside temp.
last year i took off the headlining ,the water was all over the inside of the roof in large dropletts.
As i reversed off thr drive it would all move forward and exit through the grab handles on
the a piller.
November 2010 getting real pissed, the inside is very damp and fogs up.
My take on it was water has to be getting in,and not just a temp thing.
Short story,i had a guy remove the screen helped him clean up everything and then reinstalled it.
It now seems a lot better, but is still in need of some more dry out time.
When the guy used the wire thingy to cut through the sealant whilst removing the screen
you could see it jump aprox 5" like no sealer in that area.
Did that in several places. So we knew we were getting somwhere.
I know this is a truck and not a viper, and yeah not great to have your car beatup a bit with screen removal, let alone your viper.
If you do have a leak around the screen ,and i think you do,the only way i can see on doing it right,is to remove and re-fit it.
Try and get it sorted asap really does become a pita eh.
cheers Dave.
PS You may only have a small leak some place ,be a shame to remove the screen for that, could try
a spay bottle and sneak up on it.Problem then is getting that area real dry so sealant sticks.
cheers again biggrin

Yep, driving my car up to the autosport show I noticed for the first time water dripping from the top of the windscreen around the mirror area!
