Next Year with the VCA and your Membership
Discussion
Well although there is now an online membership system and JRT are out of the VCA picture, it seems that this does not include any regions outside the US so it would appear that once again I have the burden of renewals, but hopefully now that JRT are gone the cockups may be reduced.
At the current exchange rate the membership will be:-
Normal £38.00
Venom £60.00
Not sure how most of you feel but I got no additional savings by choosing the Venom option, and the pressure on vendors may make it hard to guarantee sponsors for next year, some of you know I hate little clicks in clubs and this could be how it turns out..in the VCA, since it launched its Parts Operation.
If you could once again send me a cheque, as Paypal is to expensive payable to me directly I would be gratefull and if we could get them all in before the end of January
that would make my job so much easier, I will also post when the first magazine is out
so if you do not receive one then please advise me so I can check your membership details with HQ.
Last year a couple of people renewed directly later in the year probably because they either disliked or distrusted me.....both are somewhat offensive for someone trying to hold the whole thing together, so if you think you can do better then please step up to the plate and take the job on, but for everyone, not just yourselves.
As some of you know the SRT is sold and awaiting a change of number plate so that leaves me with just the one GTS/R, so I will still be doing as many events as I can handle including the overseas.
For me 2010 was a great year, with the icing on the cake once again being Germany, I wish all of you and your families the very best and look forward to your company in 2011 for another great year.

Thanks for posting up Paul I had been wondering what we would be doing this year. I did renew last year direct but I will stress that was not because I dis-trusted you, it was merely because that was the way we did it before and I had done it before all the stupid stuff came along.
Cheque will be in the post shortly and please let me know if there is any extra that needs to be made up, you shouldn't have to absorb the exchange rate fluctuations, I hope everyone else will feel similar.
Thanks for taking on the task of UK VCA pres. I do hope the VCA doesn't go down the pan but I share in your worries, especially after the thread about the sponsors mysteriously disappeared

As Dave has said, I too had renewed prior to all the fuss, direct with the VCA, but this was prior to them deciding that things were going to change last year.
Cheque will follow shortly, and as Dave has said please double check against any currency fluctuations as it will not be fair for you to end up carrying a potentially large sum on that...
For the last couple of years I have been a Venom Member, but don't feel that I gained anything from that at all unfortunately, fair chance that I will renew as a standard membership this year, but will mull that over in the next couple of days.
Thanks again for everything you do, and I wish you and everyone else a Very Happy Christmas and here's looking forward to what will hopefully be another great year of Vipering... Bring on 2011!
Hi Paul,
Glad I spotted this thread, have been wanting to become a VCA member since I got RT/10. Can you PM me details of where to send the cheque and anything special I need to do? I'd also like to register on the forums over there, but if I recall correctly it says I need a sponsoring member or something.
Cheers,
Stu

I don't think you have to put in a sponsoring member as i think that field is optional, there are several other optional fields as well but to be fair its not really clear, Give it a go with minimum information and see what it complains about.Cheers,
Stu
you wont get access to all the forums until you are a VCA member but should be able to register for the site and see the main ones
Sorry for the delay in letting you all know but the VCA have only today sent over details of how I do this, one does wonder if under the new regime we are becoming a PITA.
BTW it was not any of the usual suspects that renewed directly so the regulars are in the clear, but a couple of weeks after the original post last year they renewed direct with the US, something I was told is impossible, however it is possible for you to join a US region if you wish.

hi paul
dose your club allow ram owners to join
regards Ray
The VCA wont let you join as a ram owner I'm afraid, not even if you have an SRT10 one, their (VCA US) rules not ours. You are however welcome to come to our UK events as we as a UK club don't have a membership as such. By not being a VCA member you wont really miss out on much as a ram owner to be honest. dose your club allow ram owners to join
regards Ray
About the only event we restrict (not really) is the xmas dinner and that is because its more about the friendships, than cars, we don't discriminate on the car but just expect it to be the people that have taken part during the year, so come along to other events and you will be welcome. Even events where we are supposed to be showing up in vipers can have the rules bent if we know you.
