Hello to all,

Just picked up my Viper yesterday from London. I part exchanged my Saleen Stage 3 supercharged 2005 GT for the Viper.

Quite different. Getting use to the convertible ratles and to the power who comes in a different way. The Mustang had 520 bhp so very similar power.

I noticed as well a diesel like sound from engine in low rpm and car shaking slightly but i think it is normal from the V10?

The heads lights turn on when a indicate to the right, have you got the same thing in your cars? Not SJB problem i hope. May be live wire.

A part from that very happy.

I will probably be using the Viper on few track days. I think different brake fluid only should do?

Sorry for all questions. Just making sure i didn't get a lemon as the Mustang was prestine.

Thanks.

Eduardo.

Hello Eduardo,

Welcome to Viper ownership!

The V10 can sound a bit 'trucky' at times so perhaps this isn't a problem. Sorry I can't be too much help as I have a Gen II and not a III as you do (and I'm pretty useless with that). Having said that some far more knowledgable help will be on its way soon to advise!

Good luck and look forward to seeing you at some events soon!

Mark

Thank you Mark ,

Is there anything hapening in the North west?

As sad as it seems, i am one of those who will have the car parked until April now to avoid the grit on the roads.

Eduardo.

Don't be afraid about that, mine is tucked away now with highly pumped tyres sat on carpet plugged into a battery conditioner (mine will deplete its battery in a couple of weeks) and being gently wafted with dehumidified air, going to put the cover on it today or tomorrow to finally encapsulate it for the winter.

There are a few owners up there with you, but like I say, give it time and they will chime in!

Cheers

Mark

Hi Eduardo,

Welcome to ownership! There is a great group of people involved with the UK Viper Club, hope to meet you at an event at some point, the events list is here:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... Dates

However, the list is looking a little thin at the moment, mainly due to the end of the year rapidly rolling in, and a current lack of new events to add, this will change as the year goes on though. The first of the year is usually the 'Luton Lunch' which, as the name suggests, is a lunch in Luton organised by our UK Club Technical Director (Dr-Bob), it's just an informal gathering to meet up and have a bite of lunch and catch up after the winter, the date for this is currently awaited. We usually get approximately 20 or so cars at that one.

As Mark has already said, the V10 does have a bit of a trucky kind of sound when idling, nothing to worry about.. As for the lights, the quick and simple answer is, no they shouldn't be switching themselves on when you turn right, (or left for that matter), sounds like an electrical fault I am afraid.

That aside enjoy the new toy! You will love it!

If any of you will be going to the Top gear live show in Earls court please come and say hello.

I will be there with D1 ULTIMATE-GT on Friday and Saturday. Would be nice to meet some Viper faces.

Yuha Kankunen will be there with me too on Saturday from mid day if any one fancies meeting rally driving champs.

Eduardo.

Hi edurado that was me you we're talking to on the phone.

Great car you have there I very much enjoyed it during my ownership, and I never modified it or did anything silly in it....car is perfect and seeing it in the pics there make me regret selling it. Much more of an event than the z06 that replaced it.

Hope you enjoy it very much!! beer

Hello Simon,

Thanks for beeing a gent and answering my questions.
Was a bit chocked to find out that R&W motors sold the car as one owner and that few more have appeared.
Where i am lost is that after you sold it to American import, they sold it, Prestige cars then sold it and R & W motors sold it and it still shows on HPI formers keepers 0. Traders to traders?
Tried to call Amrerican import but there number doesn't work anymore.

Oh well at list glad to know it is a UK car and that you and previous owner took good care of it.

R&W said they bought it from Prestige cars but don't know what to beleive now.

Eduardo.

mmm checked their website there american car imports seem to be the latest victim of the credit crunch. Pity as they we're decent guys.

As to the number of owners.....I know when a car comes over here and back to england the tax book resets to zero owners, and after that if the new owners possible didn't tax it as it wasn't on the road or if it was used on trade plates that may explain it.

Either way you have a good car there so health to drive!!!

Its all down to perception, i.e. how quickly you as the driver can process the information reaching your eyeballs.
