Hi, got a fault intermittently appearing, P0500, speed sensor A.
Anyone know what corner "A" is?
Not sure what you mean by 'corner A' but the error code is called NO VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL.Anyone know what corner "A" is?
For what it's worth, the book says possily caused by open/shorted signal circuit, speedo pinion damage, 5v suppy fault, failed speed sensor or failed PCM.
Talk to the Wizards and good luck.
Hiya Sam, Sorry I'm late to this party!
This is what I come up with:
When monitored and set condition:
P0500 - No Vehicle Speed Signal
"When monitored": Engine temperture greater then 104 deg F, MAP vacuum approximatelk 15" tp 16" inches of mercury and engine RPM between 1400 and 3000 rpm.
"Set condition": No vehicle speed signal for more then 15 seconds on two consecutive trips.
"Possible Causes"
[G7] Vehicle speed signal circuit shorted to voltage
[G7] Vehicle speed signal circuit open between CAB and PCM
[G7] Vehicle speed signal circuit shorted to ground
PCM
G7 circuit is the cummunacations between the ABS unit [CAB] and the PCM, that's why your scan tool reads "speed sensor A". If the fault was out at the wheels, I would think you scan tool would say "B","C","D" & "E" speed sensor?
Hope this helps?
Cheers
