As some of you know our lovely SRT was unfortunately t-boned on the passenger side in a low speed shunt… back in May during the Silverstone GT meet, the viper sustained some pretty major and very expensive damage that totted up to a huge sum that made it beyond economical sense to the insurance company to cover the repair cost, so we were eventually paid off last week
The car was recovered back to Bromsgrove by the AA where it was stripped down to show the full extent of the damage and the assessor priced up the parts at Chrysler UK, major parts included the passenger door and glass £5K, both front and rear wings £6k per piece, the side fender £4K, the magnesium bulkhead which the dash is attached to had cracked, new front screen and a screen surround, but worst of all a dink in the chassis £18K which is enough to write off any car, it also had a dent in the floor pan.
During the accident the passenger door had pushed onto the interior plastics and had also caused some damage there, visually travelling as far as the stereo. Luckily no passenger on this trip !
The guy got upto £51K in parts alone and was still going so he called it a day.
Its now classed as a Cat C, though expensive to repair with new parts it can be rebuilt and put back on the road, the SRT is now up on a traders/insurance auction which ends tomorrow luchtime, so someone will either strip it down for parts or I think more likely rebuild it, its currently standing at 10G if you fancy a project
still pretty miffed even now as both Leigh and I know that car was a good ‘un !
and we had spent a quid getting it upto scratch, its practically impossible to replace over here espicially with the US dollar exchange rate being naff
Just like to say thanks to Paul,Baz,James and espicially Nigel for their help

Crickey, I recall how much of an event getting the car was so really feel for you! I sometimes wonder if I am going to have to peel another car off the back of mine as people race up behind, either to try to instigate some racing or at least entice me to make some noise (neither of which I will respond to) or to read the badge but never figured on someone NOT seeing it!
I suppose the only consolation is, as you said, no passenger!

It's a great shame Neil and I was gutted for you when I saw it at Silverstone but if all the economic reports are correct the USA is f####d and you could see a much weaker dollar in the not too distant future.
3 to the £ would be nice or even 2 like when them jammy yellow owners got theirs Edited by Viper on Monday 2nd August 21:22

Neil, your car sold to a buyer in Poland for £22.200. Hope you find yourself another soon. Perhaps something like this edition below, which are the commemorative World Challenge ACR's. Only 6 available and at a bargain $128K a piece! I could see you in one of those, Neil!
