Bugger, 17" wheels, would have been worth buying for the tyres alone if they were 18"

Those tyres won't be any use at all... By the look of them (from tread pattern) they are early Pilot Sports, and probably rock solid!

I could do with a new rear wheel as one of mine is pretty dull. Could anyone enlighten me , do you get these wheels in chrome as well as polished alloy/aluminium finish? I have never fully understood the finishes that were available.
thanks.

They were generally just polished with a lacquer, but some in the states were chrome plated... There were also two main types, being a one piece wheel and a welded one, the welded ones are not suggested to be used on track as apparently they had a potential issue with the weld giving way, this I have only heard and never actually seen.

I am really only interested in the front wheel from that pair as a spare, so if you are interested in the rear we might be able to sort something out between us?
