Good Morning all,

My dad took our 2004 SRT10 down to the docks in Miami yesterday, so she can be shipped smile However he noticed that there was a strange rattling noise which was only there when the car was at idle and out of gear with the clutch pedal in the up position, This rattle went away when the clutch was depressed..

Any ideas on what that could be? The clutch has good bite and it engages at the correct position (showing no wear)

Thanks for any advice, If it is something more sinister then we will need to sort it ASAP when she lands here in 3 weeks time smile

If it was coming from the transmission tunnel/shifter area, it is a common noise, I spoke to Chuck (The Wizard) Tator about this when I had my RT and he advised that it was a common issue and nothing to worry about, not all of them do it, (My GTS doesn't).

Likely to be nothing to worry about, but would be worth getting it checked out to be certain.

If you can find out, from your Dad, where the noise was coming from it would help with a diagnosis.

All he can identify is that it was a tinny noise like a screw or something is loose, And the noise was between the rear of the engine and the front of the seat....Sorry He cant be more specific smile

Doesn't sound like the type of noise I was referring to, better to get it checked out.

Best solution for Neutral gear rattle is a corsa exhaust

could be the clutch release bearing, had similar symptoms in the RT, and swapping it solved the problem
