Please find below a email I have received from Eddie (RED RT/10) :-

Hallo Paul!
My name is Eddy. We became acquainted with each other at our Viper events at Airport Mendig and Rudolf Carraciola Drive.

Half a year ago we have seen and met us last time.
First of all, I would really like to apologize for Rudolf Carraciola Drive last year which unfortunately did not flow smoothly. Some things went wrong and not in the way as it was planed before.
Although it was confirmed, the hotel (we were in) had cancelled the half of the rooms just shortly before.
Unfortunately on the day of event one helping person got his heart attack. Because of this circumstance five other helpers also could not be used. And so one problem led to another one.
Also a driving course through the countryside was not a great hit.
Many viper drivers are more interested in events where they have the possibility to hit the gas.
I have noticed this event was not very good for you. Although i think many people had fun driving at the North Loop at Nurburgring. It was also very difficult to organize the permission to use it with our cars in the pause.
And it costed a lot of money, that you can believe me. But we have managed that and i think we all had fun.
But still I want to apologize again for things went wrong.

Maybe you have heard about it, both of us Dr. Werner and I left the Viperclub last year. This club life with Max Erdmann was not acceptable for us any more. There were so enormous missunderstandings about the art and administration of the club, so we were forced to leave the club.
You know Max, and you know all the problems happening backstage, i do not need to say something more to this topic.
For me the car "Viper" is a reason why i like to meet people and spend time with them.
I do not need a person who dictates me what, when and how I have to do.
I Love a car and fun!
I am not interested in power fight between Max and other German viper club at all. We are all free people and to some extend crazy about our cars. A lot of our friends have the same opinion, but are really scared to say something against Max Erdmann. A few years ago we made a proposal to organize something with the collegues from other viper club. But Max refused and boycotted all the efforts. He behaves like a real child.
But since we are free people again, we can do whatever we want.
What would be the best thing we would like to do? Exactly, we want to do things which went wrong or not in a proper way last year.
So we again rented Mendig Airport on the 28th of August 2010 and want to repeat the Viper Racing Day as it was in 2008. I have also sent you the updated Flyer.
But this time only Werner and I will organize this event.
A lot of our old club friends have already registered for it. We are also in contact with Vulkanracing and Mr. Sattler from another Viper club. They would like to participate this years ( in companionship with the Swiss viper club).
So it would be our first chance to participate this event all joined.....Germany, Switzerland and .....maybe England. Of course only if you are interested in. It would be great if English viper club could also participate.
And honestly the Viper Racing Days in 2008 were great, weren't they?

Paul it would be great to welcome you this years at our event. And it only could be better after the mishaps last year.
Ok, Max Erdmann will boycott this meeting of all viper clubs. But we are free persons!

I am looking forward to hear from you, but better to get your acceptance for the participation. It would be great!

Kind greetings to you and the English viper club.

Eddy.

Subject to there not being anything else I'm already committed to on the calendar at home, the cost not being to silly, and assuming we get enough interested parties... you can count me in!

Thats exactly what I said to Paul earlier. It was a cracking day last time though.

Im a bit confused with the email Paul posted up though. I thought it was Max that made us feel welcome and the others that often forgot about us?confused

Ditto Gixer that was for sure the impression we both got?
And Fishy is right on the money if we have the noise police what's the point for anyone with a not stock system.
We would love to do Mendig again and maybe the Fish could walk away with even more of the german silver wear but there are a few questions that need clarifing first me thinks.

Have to echo the comments above, we definitely need clarification about any noise restrictions. Most of us would fail if the roll up with the levels they were looking at last time, and as Baz has said above, it's a long drive to Germany to find we can't get involved.

OK well I will try to sort the noise, but I am a little dissappointed that it appears some wish to poison the event at such an early stage, the noise problem was only experienced by one person and he is yet to post, the rest of you ran with no problems and had a great day, you should also remember that Eddie organised the cruise on the Friday night with the Police and I for one had a great time with exclusive parking at the two rivers.

Please also note Marcus post re the German VCA its been 10 years !!! Max is a great guy and his event was very good but he has lost over 50% of his members with a "its my way or the Highway" which can be his attitude. There are also many Power Struggles within the VCA Germany to unseat him, if you doubt it then PM Marcus and ask him.

Fair enough I have asked the question regarding noise and sugested that we all take our MOT's which is the same as the German number plate inspection sticker and I hope this is acceptable.

Remember also new and old but your car with No Cats or silencers may sound so cool, but it will stop you from doing virtually every track event in Europe and may even get you a section 52 from the Police which is a vehicle ASBO if heard or seen again your car can even be seized.

Barbara and I have organised the last two trip and it has been most stressfull, if you would rather I will pass all of you Eddy's email address and you can make your own arrangements. But wild horses won't stop me from going, perhaps I will see you there !!

No-one is trying to 'Poison the event' Paul, we are just concerned that we may have issues with being able to compete/be involved due to noise restrictions, I agree that the odd car with no cats or most certainly Ginja's car, would have absolutely no hope, but even the regular cars such as mine with cats and two sets of silencers will still struggle, it is understandable that there are some reservations regarding this aspect of the trip, if memory serves me correctly Mich's car failed, (I am not certain of what exhaust set-up he is/was running), but it was Andrew's truck which was not allowed to run despite the fact that the truck passed with no problems, we all felt really bad for Andrew last time, especially considering the truck did actually pass the noise test! As Baz has said, it's a long way to go to be disappointed like that, and I feel that it is understandable that this deserves to be clarified before we commit to anything..

All in all it was a great weekend, and I agree, the evening driving cruise and boat cruise on the Saturday night were great too. At the moment I think a fair number from the UK intend to attend, but I completely understand the reservations.

No-one has ever put any doubt into the amount of organization that you and Barbara put into these kind of events, and it is always Very Highly Appreciated by us all, you both do a fantastic job! Assuming I attend, which at the moment, assuming all goes well, I fully intend to, I will happily assist you wherever I am able.

I do understand but it does pee me off somewhat that people have an obsession with making their cars as loud as possible..................and then comment about how nervous they are about events, its a long way and again everyone ran except the truck, I have emailed Eddy for clarification on the noise and will advise, I am just passing on the invitation, if you are nervous or think it may waste your time then don't go, simple as that.

Also some of the comments made were from people who did not even go last year but no doubt, others had told them what it was like !! By all means comment but at least comment from fact, not from what you have heard.

Dave thanks for the praise, its not needed or required, seems we have enough large ego's in the German VCA.

Perhaps I will see some of you at Mendig??
