This really annoys me that damage like this is not recorded on HPI checks, Ive been on the receiving end of stuff like this, and when I tried to inform companies like HPI they said unless the information was sent to them from the DVLA they were not interested rage

It was similar with CarFax, I sent them information that the car I bought had left the USA and informed them of the mileage. Again, they were not interested! banghead You try to be up front and honest and it seems no one gives a dam frown

At least this company ARE SHOWING the damage, what concerns me is who will be doing the repairs (if any) and then try to pass the car off as a minter! I believe its up to us as club members to keep an eye on this stuff coming into the UK.

Well if thats the case Neil how come the insurance companies have not informed HPI or the DVLA? Surley the police would have involved with a prang like that?

It'll only get recorded if the insurance company write it off, or if it is given some kind of salvage title... It may have never got to that for whatever reason, or was seen as repairable.

Surely it would have a category rating against it?

Not necessarily... It would if an insurance company was involved in it being moved on, but not all cars take the same route, unfortunately there are ways round it... They don't always get a category title if they are considered repairable within a certain percentage of the value of the vehicle.

if it was just a spin and no one was hurt, wasnt blocking the road, i very much doubt the police would come out, and i bet they wouldnt want to get involved with any insurance companies

pretty easy to get around that as Dave suggest, espicially if its a not your fault accident.

I had a girl pile into the back of an 8K escort i had years ago when i stopped in a queue of traffic, £4K worth of damage, didnt go through my own insurance as i wanted the car back rather than being scrapped and didnt want a claim as such against me, my garage mate put me in touch with a company he uses, they gave me a hire car within 2 hours and towed the damaged escort away, agreed with the garage the same day of the repair cost so the repair could start instantly, sorted the whiplash, sent me to a specialist, then claimed all these costs direct against the girls insurance.

They seem to me to make their money by overcharging on the car hire

My car came back clean with no record of the accident
here's the company, great service !
