I've had a dirty water mark on the on the inside of one of my h/lamp lenses since it was about a week old....it's always bugged me but never been bothered to investigate the possibility of taking the unit out.

Does the bumper/nose really need to come off to get the lamp out?

Sorry....should have said......97 GTS

Bumper off job, makes it a lot easier.
The thing is the unit is sealed,so access to the inside lens
is through the bulb hole.
Maybe take note of where the unit fits ie underneath
where the studs come through, and the nut washers make a mark.
Dr bob may correct me at any time.

Hi Leo,

I was talking to Mich at the xmas do about his snake eye angel eyes and he told me you can take the innards out of the lamp to add the angel eye fitments so it should be possible to get in there to clean the lense as well. I'm sure one of the others will be along to help out in a more constructive way soon.

Hi Lee,

Pretty sure that you can remove the headlight unit with the removal of the front fascia... But I'm not positive... As Mark has said above Mich has removed the inards of his before so it must be possible to clean the inside of the lens, just go careful what you use to do it as I believe they can get scratched pretty easily.

a long pair of artery forceps and a blob of cotton wall or screwed up baby wipe through the lens hole ,shouldn't take to long

Thanks for the replies....Guys

I'll have to take a fresh look at maybe posting something through the bulb hole.....can't remember if its in line.

Reason I've never corrected it is because I really don't wanna take the front nose off.

Spot on mark take the cover off the front wheel arch remove the back of the light cover remove elec conections then just remove the screws, the interior light unit will wiggle out it's a bit tight and can be easier if you remove the wheel but not imperitive then just clean the lens.
If you havn't got them do the hids at the same time.

should be do-able depending where your streaks are, if a little tight
